Anushka Shetty made her debut in the telugu film “Super”, directed by Puri jagannath in 2005. Now she is the topmost actress in the telugu(Tollywood) film industry. 2009 is a very very big year for Anushka in which her film Tollywood's Top 3rd Grosser Arundhati released. In this flick she portrayed two central characters-Arundhati alias Jejamma, separated by a time period of 3 generations.

Anushka starred in five films in 2008 Chintakayala Ravi, Souryam, Okka Magadu, Swagatham, Baladoor and in 2009's Arundhati & Billa.

Anushka Shetty already acted in Tamil film(Kollywood film). Rendu (2006) is the name of that Tamil film directed by critically acclaimed director Sundar C. Madhavan was the hero acted together with this pretty lady. Now Anushka Shetty is again back in Kollywood with the young superstar Vijay in the movie Vettaikkaran which will be a December 2009 release as well as with Suriya in Singam which will be a Pongal 2010 release.
