Mohanlal(born 21 May 1960) is the malayalam superstar who has already proven his talents through several challenging roles. Malayalees(or mallus) used to call Mohanlal as "Lalettan" because of their affection to him. Mohanlal's full name is Mohanlal Vishwanathan Nair.

Mohanlal is a four-time National Award winner. Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri for his contributions towards Indian cinema.

Mohanlal was granted the rank of honorary Lieutenant Colonel by the Indian Territorial Army and Honorary Doctorate by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady.
